Summer Schedule For Kids

Summer Schedule For Kids

Morgan Hill on 2nd Jun 2021

I love a good schedule. I am not an organized person, as much as I would like to be, so a schedule helps keep me on track. I often get lost in work or cleaning or even social media and before I know it my day is gone.

More than once I have said to myself, where has the day gone? Or over the past couple years, where has the summer gone?! It seems like it goes by in a flash and I don’t get in all the activities that I wanted to do with the girls. So, I came up with a system that helps the girls and me stay on track. Although I am not organized, I do love goals so lists are my friends. So writing out a daily schedule for the kids helps me and helps them. I also do a summer bucket list where I write down all the activities I want to do this summer.

Some of those activities are big, like beach trips, zoo trips or family vacations but others are small like weekly trips to the library, making smores, movie night, sleepover in the living room, princess night or cookie baking night. Fun activities that make great memories for all four of us.

My husband and I have found that we stay so busy with our jobs and everyday life we have to constantly have a reminder to stop, breathe and enjoy life. This system has changed the way our summers are lived. Instead of feeling guilty for not spending time with the kids at the end of summer, we feel fulfilled and bittersweet at the ending of a chapter and the start of a new one.

Listed below are two FREE templates you are welcome to download. These are the ones that I created for us and the schedule we go by. I fill out the bucket list by hand and check mark the activities once they are completed.

This is meant to be fun so if you don't get to everything on your list, that is okay! It's all about spending time with family and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
